As of January 2025, Mercari simplified its fee structure significantly. Sellers now pay a single 10% selling fee on the item price. The previous separate payment processing fee (2.9% + $0.50) has been removed entirely.
This makes Mercari's fee structure one of the simplest to understand — you keep 90% of your sale price. Shipping costs are handled separately and can be paid by either the buyer or seller depending on listing settings.
Before this change, sellers were paying around 13% in combined fees (10% selling + ~3% payment processing). The updated structure represents a meaningful saving, especially on higher-priced items where the old $0.50 flat fee was less significant.
