How eBay Fees Work

eBay's fee structure differs based on your seller type:

UK Private Sellersβ€” under eBay's "Sell for Zero" policy (introduced late 2024), private sellers in the UK pay 0% final value fees and no regulatory operating fees on almost all categories. You get 300 free listings per month; additional listings cost Β£0.35 each.

Business Sellers β€” pay a ~13.15% combined fee (12.8% final value fee + 0.35% regulatory operating fee) on the total sale amount including shipping, plus a Β£0.30 per-order fee. Rates vary by category (10.2%–14.35%). In the US, business sellers pay 13.25% plus $0.30.

Note that some categories have lower final value fee rates (e.g. motors, business equipment). If you use eBay Promoted Listings, an additional 2–12% ad fee applies on top.

To calculate your net profit, enter your item purchase cost and shipping cost in the inputs above β€” the calculator will subtract these from your gross earnings to show your true margin.
