In 2024, Facebook removed selling fees on Marketplace for most categories. Previously, shipped items incurred a 5% selling fee (or $0.40 minimum). This fee has been completely eliminated.
For shipped sales, Facebook handles payment processing through Meta Pay. The buyer pays for shipping based on item weight, and the seller ships using a prepaid label. There are no fees deducted from the seller's payout.
For local pickup sales, there have never been fees. You meet the buyer in person, exchange the item for cash or use your preferred payment method, and Facebook takes nothing.
This makes Facebook Marketplace, along with Vinted, one of only two major platforms where sellers keep 100% of their sale price. The trade-off is less seller protection compared to platforms like eBay or Poshmark.
